Compressor castings can require particular attention to internal defects, residual sand and sealing surfaces. Please specify cleanliness and leak-test requirements, including method, pressure and acceptance threshold where applicable.
Critical dimensions, datums, tolerances and surface finish should be identified in the approved drawing. The inspection plan and report format are agreed for the project.
The company profile describes production planning, production records, material analysis and inspection feedback. Discuss the traceability documentation your supplier approval process requires.
Request current certification documents and their applicable scope during supplier qualification. Certification status and covered entities should be checked using the current documents.
Inspection scope is agreed before production. Do not assume that leak testing, nondestructive testing or a particular report is included without confirmation in the quotation.
